Most activewear is made from polyester or nylon. Ours is 95% viscose from bamboo and 5% spandex. Here's how they compare, so you can choose what suits the way you move.
How they feel
Viscose from bamboo is soft, smooth and cool to the touch, and it drapes close to the body without feeling stiff. Polyester has a slicker, more synthetic feel.
In the heat
For everyday movement, a studio class or a walk on a warm day, many people find bamboo fabric more comfortable against the skin. It absorbs moisture rather than leaving it sitting on your skin, which is why it feels fresh through the day.
If your training is long and very sweaty, polyester and nylon dry faster, so they're the better pick for that kind of session.
From the studio to the rest of your day
This is where bamboo fabric really earns its place. It's soft enough that you don't feel the need to change after class, and it looks relaxed rather than technical, so it works for coffee, errands and everything between.
Stretch and shape
The stretch in both comes from spandex, also called elastane, and from how the fabric is knitted. Ours has enough give to move with you through a reach, a fold or a flow.
The short version
- For comfort, softness and all day wear, bamboo fabric is hard to beat.
- For long, very sweaty training sessions, polyester dries faster.
- Whatever you wear, wash it cold and dry it gently to make it last.
